Emerald is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist that is passionate about serving children, adolescence, adults, and their families to promote healing from physical, emotional, sexual, intergenerational, and racial traumas. With 17 years serving populations with varying neurodiverse challenges, developmental delays, and mental health needs with complex trauma, Emerald is dedicated to empowering others to access their most authentic selves and journeying alongside people as they create a purposeful life that is meaningful for them.
Emerald has 17 years serving youth and families, 14 years providing direct service to individuals with special needs (e.g., Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Intellectual Disability, ADHD) and mental health struggles (e.g., Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD), and 5 years of experience working with marginalized communities with complex trauma (e.g., poverty, substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual trauma, oppression through immigration policies, incarceration, homelessness, grief/loss). Additionally, Emerald has experience supporting clients in navigating their gender identity and sexual orientation so that they are empowered to show up unapologetically as they are. Lastly, Emerald loves working with couples, parents, and families as she believes in creating change by looking at generational patterns and helping people to build their dreamed legacy in their family trees.
In the words of Mother Theresa, “Spread love wherever you go”. Love is a core value that Emerald lives by every day. She finds joy in being interconnected in her various roles as a wife, mother of 2 pre-teens, eldest sister, PTA President, community leader, collectivist healer, and activist for social justice issues. Emerald identifies as a proud Filipina-American, bisexual cisgender female (pronouns: she/her), and devout woman of God. Being raised by parents and grandparents who immigrated from the Philippines, she has lived through the hustle of her family members relentlessly fighting for the American Dream. As a resilient survivor of decades of physical, emotional, and sexual trauma from childhood to early adulthood, Emerald has become a bold advocate to address these issues that impact many people across diverse populations. Emerald embodies such gratitude in her lived experiences as it has led her to her purpose in helping other heal on their journey. It would be an honor to serve you on your path towards empowerment and healing.
